I don't know how to approach this particular issue. My partner and I spent a year in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa. We weren't permanent residents and we were just on a temporary visa.

I'm sure that I read somewhere on the CIC website that being on a holiday isn't considered residing somewhere for immigration purposes. I could be wrong as I can't find that quote anymore.

If anyone knows anything about this, it would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!

I think anything more than 6 months spend in any other country requires PCC.

That is correct. You need PCC for every country where you spent sequentially more than 6 month.

Oh no.

Okay so we applied in April 2015. At the time we were in Turkey for Valentine's Day but figured we would stay longer, my husband stayed from April to August (9months) while I went back to Canada for school. They just asked us for an updated schedule A form and I'm scared once we send that back in, they're also gonna ask for a police check from Turkey. Since it's shown that he was there for 9 months and now we are back in Jordan.

Is this possible? Do they ask for police checks if while you were in a country waiting for the file?

Most probably they will. I would get a police check from Turkey now and send it to CIC, just in case.

Sorry he was actually there for 6 months (6 months and 18 days to be exact) from our experience. A police check needs to be from the country. They only thing you can do is give power of attorney to someone you may know in turkey to get it for you. This is where the problem lies. We have no one in turkey and going back there is not an option for us.

I think I'm going to order notes and see if they mention anything. Ughhh so many hurdles for such a simple request. I just want to settle with my husband in Canada. Is that so hard?
