I remember having to do this when I immigrated to the United States, and was wondering if you're supposed to do the same on Canadian applications.

I've noticed that trying to do this for EVERYthing - especially the forms that need to be validated - causes some issues.

On the checklist, how do I notate the unnecessary fields as N/A on there? Do I write hand-print "N/A" next to sections or boxes that aren't relevant?

Do I need to print "N/A" in sections that ask for a P.O. Box if that's not included in my mailing address?

Basically - how crazy do I have to go with the N/As?

EDIT - on the checklist, is it worthwhile striking out unnecessary or non-applicable fields? How do people normally handle this?

On the checklist write ‘N/A’ next to the checkboxes that’s don’t apply by hand. They make that pretty clear on the checklist.

If you’re able to type it in on fields that don’t apply to you in the application itself, do so. Better to be safe than sorry even if it might seem like a bit much.
