You can check out one thread by our friend Kanamen on temporary health insurance choices before you get your health card. Not sure if you can get one before landing though!! but as Qorax advised better to have a travel insurance from home country if it is of concern and its also cheaper doing it from home country....

You should have the travel guard policy because in Canada medical cover starts only after 90 days... If you need any help regarding the same please let me know... Since I belong to the same industry... will definitely fetch you the right cover with competitive rates...
