I'm just wondering if the people who process the sponsor portion of the app contact there work, because it does ask for their number? or is this more of a way to tell that the work place is legit?

Haven't heard of them calling. But they could if they wanted to. You also have to include a letter from your current employer.

My wife is currently employed, and does have the letter. fact is she plans on leaving the job soon after its submitted to visit me while its being processed. but no where on the app does it ask if she plans on leaving the job. lol. shes not lying when she said she is currently employed. If they do call they can verify she was working there though.

Hi rjessome is the letter mandatory as I am contract so not sure what to do I intend to start my process in October the latest so want to gather all the information... I thought spouses were not subject to LICO

Yes, it is mandatory. You don't have to have full-time employment or even be employed. But if you are, you have to follow the checklist and give them what they ask for. There isn't a "right" kind of work so if you are on a contract when you apply, you get a letter from that employer. Spouses are not subject to LICO but that doesn't mean the checklist documents are not required.
