Do taxes or not (PR Applicant)

Hi, I'm PR applicant.
I arrived in the September last year as temporary visitor and started my in-Canada sponsorship. My husband sponsors me.

My PR applicant status started at the end of October last year. I did not get open work permit until a month ago. I just got a SIN 2 weeks ago.


Do I need to do my taxes? I never worked in Canada in 2019 and I'm a PR applicant?

If you had no income at all in 2019 you are not obligated to file taxes for 2019. You still can, though, and it could be to your benefit in certain cases, but you'll need to talk to a tax expert.

OP was a visitor in 2019 so no taxes.
