Hi,

On 5669, on question 8 (personal history), it says there should be no gaps in time. Does this mean dates have to overlap? For example:

2010-01 to 2010-05
2010-05 to 2010-10

Is the below OK, it it considered a "gap" since after 2010-05 I have put in 2010-06 and not 2010-05?

2010-01 to 2010-05
2010-06 to 2010-10

Actually either one would be OK. There is no gap in either example. If they are just asking for months and years, I would go with the actual case: for example, if I lived somewhere up until January 15, 2000, and then moved somewhere else January 16, 2000, I would put 1999-01 to 2000-01, and then 2000-01 to 2002-01 or whatever. If I moved out the last day of the month, and moved in the first day of the next month, then I would write it like your second example.
If they are asking for the day, month, and year, I would put the end date as, for example, January 15, 2000, and the start date as January 16, 2000.

I would just attach a separate sheet of paper to that form and explain the situation.

You don't have to be so detailed. This is all still part of your nursing training. For example, you would put down Jun 2014 to Jun 2016 (example only, ok), nursing training, xxx school, yyy city, zzz country. You do not have to put down the smaller details as part of that activity. If you went away for a long time, say several months, to another country as part of the training program, you should put that down. Otherwise even if you went for a week conference, you do not need to mention that. You would want to mention these small things if there were problems during those trips. For example, if during your 2 year study program you went to Europe for 2 weeks, but had problems entering France during one of the legs of the trip (you were denied entry, for example, for whatever reason). You would highlight that 2 weeks because you would contradict yourself when you are asked in another section about being denied entry in another country.

Anyway, big chunks of time and activity. Like...Jan 2003-Jun 2005: university, Jun 2005-Jan 2007: part time job (list the employers out if you have the details, and if you don't remember all of them, just try to be as thorough as possible), Feb 2007-Dec 2007: unemployed, searching for work.

You get the idea. But do fill it back up all the way to 18 years old. Some VO's ask for this instead of just 10 years. You might as well be thorough and avoid delays.
