I am the primary applicant and we received an ITA recently. We are Indian passport holders and are currently on work visa in US. We have been married for over an year now. Problem is, we are at different locations in US due to our jobs and we never got a chance to update our addresses when we were back in India. We have a valid marriage certificate and can get each other's name endorsed on our passports as spouse. But I am worried if the difference in address is going to weaken our case for PR?

Please advice.

Marriage certificate is all that is needed.

I do think the same. However, I read at lot of forums, that this has been an issue in the past. Consulate officers need more proof (such as same address etc. ) to agree to the fact that the couple is married.

As picklee mentions, Marriage Certificate is all that you need. If you have any doubts, click on the ? next to the document submission list. It will tell you what proofs they expect.

Marriage certificate is definitely all you need. Maybe Indian passports have your address written in the passport, but many passports do not contain an address at all (there is no address field in my passport or in my husband's passport). So don't worry about that, as long as you have a marriage certificate, you are fine.

An official marriage certificate is enough to prove marriage. You may need more documents to prove common law partnership, but not marriage as far as I know.

Marriage certificate is sufficient for IRCC. However, you may get trouble while getting the PCC from PSK. My case is same as yours, the policeman gave tough time to issue the clearance (to get some money). Just make sure the police stations are different for you and your wife. Also, you have the option to change the address while applying for PCC in India, this would be the correct way and smooth processing.

when i change house in the same province do I need to update the details on my endorsement certificate?
