Do intake period matter for study permit

Hi i just thought that fall has the mist applicants and since study permit is capped maybe fall is more competitive for visa

is that the case or is it the same in other intakes?

Im apply for fall 2026 and already took a gap year so dont wanna gap year again

Post further questions under International student section of this forum. Fewer study permits are being approved with PAL, and it is decreasing year after year as outlined in the immigration plan. Past years they accepted over 300k and now next year 150k, 5k less than this year. So yes intakes matter.
