Do I need Ielts for spousal visa ?

Hi all,

My consultant just called me and said I need to appear in the IELTS General Test for Spousal Visa and he said I should apply for express entry it will take 3 to 6 months. Don't know he is guiding right or wrong but I am not sure of him, I am thinking of changing my consultant. Do I really need the IELTS? i think its for UK not for Canada

You don't need IELTS for spousal sponsorship.

I don't know what you mean by 'spousal visa'.

You don't need ILETS for Spousal Sponsorship (as the other poster stated).

You do need ILETS for Express Entry.

what do you mean "Spousal Visa"?
if you are a PR or citizen and want to sponsor your partner who are inside or outside Canada, both you and your partner do not need IELTS test
if you are applying PR, you need a proper IELTS score before you get into the EE pool
