DO I NEED AN ECA FOR ALL MY CREDENTIALS for maximum pts ?

Hi guys,

I was going through the CRS grid and noticed that one of the factors under transferability is having a CLB score of 9 with one post-secondary education for one year or longer (25 PTS) and the other option is Two or more post-secondary program credentials and at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer (50pts).

Does this mean that I need to get my bachelors assessed to get the maximum points because my masters is a 2 -year program and bachelors was a 4-year program?

or is assumed that once I have the ECA for the masters then i have 2 or more post secondary program credentials

Just your masters as that gives you the most points but if your masters is assessed as lesser, for example, as a post graduate diploma then it would be best to have the bachelors assessed as well to get the most points.

Hi thanks for the response but I found the answer on the FAQs on the website and whilsts my masters was assessed as a master for more pts I need to get the bachelor's assessed as well.

Even if you get the bachelors assessed and enter it in your profile you would only be getting points for your masters.

yes under the core points for language, i will only get the 135 for my masters but under skills transferability, I will miss out on 25 points if I dont have my bachelors assessed.

my bachelors would get me those extra points.

I have two degrees from outside Canada. Do I need an Educational Credential Assessment for both?
To get the most points possible for your education under the Comprehensive Ranking System, you should get your highest degree, diploma or certificate assessed (PhD, MA, BA). If you have more than one credential, you may want to get both assessed if it would give you more points.(copied from FAQs on Canada.ca)
