Hi there!
My boyfriend of 6 years has just relocated to Canada from the UK, and im planning to go out there soon to live with him. The only problem is with the Visa!

I would like a Work Visa but i dont have a job offer, although i seem to have the right amount of points!
Do i really need an LMO or will my points be fine?

Theres a chance that i may be able to work in the same company.

I will be most greatful for any help as i really want to go back to Canada and stay!

Many thanks!

Louise

1. Assuming you are not a common/law couple, you will have to find an employer, the employer will have to get an LMO, and then you apply outside Canada for a work permit. Points have nothing to do with work permits, they only apply to Permanent Resident Immigration as a skilled worker.
2. Also is the BF a Permanent Resident or on a work permit?

Hi there, thank-you for your reply!

My boyfriend has a temporary work permit. Is there anyway of me being able to go out and stay and possibly working too? Also does the job offer have to be in what i am a qualified for ?

Many thanks!

Yes, you have to qualified for the job. You could stay as a visitor (no work/study) if you were admitted at a Port of Entry. Visitors are usually admitted for 6 months if they can prove that they can support themselves and will leave at the end of the visit.
