Pre-Assessed..
Dear members,

I am applying for a study permit following SDS program.
To be honest, in 2014, I was banned for "Misrepresentation" while applying for work permit because I gave false information about work experience. At the time, this crime was charged for 2 years, but now it increase to 5.
Regardless 2 or 5 years, I have been through the time. Now I want get another chance. I am wondering whether I should or have to write a apology and a brief description in terms of last refusal, in my Statement of Purpose applying for study permit?

Any advise of yours would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

You have to disclose this. If you don't, you'll be banned again.

If you like, you can choose not to put this in your SoP and write a separate letter explaining it.

That's ok, as long as you disclose it on the forms and provide a detailed explanation somewhere in your application.

So please give me some information. Should I fill the form in terms of Deemed Rehabilitation?

You actually need to be charged and convicted of a crime to need rehabilitation, a finding of misrepresentation is not a conviction. You dont need rehabilitation.

Your response is a great help, thank you.

Agreed, you don't need rehabilitation. You just need to make sure you don't conceal the prior denial+ban. You have to make sure your agent mentions it.. don't trust agents, make sure you verify all the information prior to submitting anything.

There are many cases on this forum where people come and say their agent made a mistake (or deliberately concealed something) and then they got a ban. There's nothing anyone can do at that point. You cannot blame your agent.

Thank you very much, 21Goose.
