Visa Office......
Buffalo, US
Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I had my medical done back in Feb and the doctor refused to give me IMM 1017. We sent the app in March with a letter explaining the situation and got a sponsor approval letter at the beginning of April with a note saying my file looked good, but was considered incomplete due to the missing form. I went back to the doctor last week, and showed him the letter saying I needed the paper. He then started arguing with me that immigration really didn't need this form and that I told him the wrong office (I told him my visa app office is Buffalo). We are outland through Buffalo and our app was sent to Mississagua for the sponsor approval (like it's suppose to be). He insited that I told him wrong and that he now had to send a letter to Mississagua saying my medical is misplaced (He sent my medical to Buffalo) and that I would have to pay for another exam. I know I gave him the right info and visa office. I finally recieved the IMM 1017 and will mail it to Buffalo today, but should I be worried about my medical being misplaced? It should already be at the Buffalo office. The doctor said he already sent it off.

I don't know, but I was told and I have seen on here that they are all supossed to go to Ottawa first, and then they send it to the visa office that you specified. I don't think the doctor is ever supossed to send it directly to a visa office outside of Canada. The medical isn't go to to Mississauga either, it's supossed to go to Ottawa and then to Buffalo.. so maybe if it did end up in Buffalo it's ok? Maybe call CIC and see what they say. I see stuff like this a lot and I think it's absurd that they 'designate' these people who don't know what they're doing.

That's right - that DMP does not know what he's doing and he needs to be reported to CIC. There is information about this here, in the DMP handbook. Reports should be made, it says, to the Regional Medical Centre . . . I would say, in your case, to the one in Ottawa. You should not be paying for another exam - fax the RMC immediately and report what has happened and ask for their direction.
