You did not mention here what exactly is the discrepancy?.
Only a spelling mistake?.
Is there an omission of her first name, middle name or family name?.
Did the name in her passport and your sponsorship application tally?.
Did the sponsorship approval letter what you received from CIC shows the correct name?.
Contact CIC to correct the name. If there is an omission from their part, of course they will correct it.
