My employer had its name and address officially changed back in 2017, but on the CRA the company still has the old information. The new name is everywhere (website, product, social media, etc), but on my T4 and pay stubs it is still as the previous name and address. My concern is that my work reference letter for CEC will have different information than the T4 they provided me. Has anyone been through this situation? What is the best solution to avoid an issue here? Thanks for any input!

Send a LOE to explain that plus any documentation you may have about the name change and you should be ok.

Hi, I quite have the same scenario. Though in my case, I work in one of their affiliate, but my payroll is paid thru the main group. So in my COE, it mentions the specific name of the company where I worked for, but the payslips and T4 has the name of the corporate group. Also in my COE, is mentions this way "work with XXXX and its affiliated companies". And the HR signature has the name of the corporate group. Would that cause any problem? I submitted my profile and got medical passed now. Is it still worth it to provide an LOE? I'm probably overthinking this, but hope to have some insights too. Thank you.

In your case I don´t think it´s needed because it´s consistent, and I would think it would be very easy for anyone to verify a corporation and its affiliates. But if you want to send it for your peace of mind it won´t hurt either, they´re not going to complain because you sent them too much documentation.

Thanks for the reply, I'll do that! I'll see if I can even get something official from my employer, or maybe a signed letter stating the difference, I guess more proof doesn't hurt. I'm glad I noticed this in advance, otherwise my application would have been rejected because there is no way to tell the connection.
