Difference between LCP and FSWP work experience

Hello Everyone,

I am a newbie here and wanted to know the difference between:

LCP - one year of full-time paid employment with
FSWP - at least one year, continuous, and paid (full-time or the equivalent in part-time)

Can anyone differentiate this through an example? Thank you.

Is my part time experience as nanny (5pm-7pm - Sat-Wednesday) (8-5 Every Thursday) for a period of 24 months can be considered as full time paid work experience basing on the definition of "Full-time job equivalent" defined as 1,950 hours of paid employment per year?

Hi watchamacall8, the problem here is not the total number of hours, but the fact your work experience needs to be a skill level O, A, or B. As scylla said, I don't think LCP work experience is considered to be either.

a skill type 0 (managerial occupations) or skill level A (professional occupations) or B (technical occupations and skilled trades) on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC) list.

Hi watchamacall8, you won't be able to apply under skilled worker, but if PR status is what's you're interested in, then you may be able to apply for it through the Live-in caregivers program. Please consult the following link

Basically what you would need to do is accumulate 3,900 hours of work experience within 4 years of your date of arrival

24 months of authorized full-time employment, or
3,900 hours of authorized full-time employment. You can complete these hours within a minimum or 22 months. When calculating your hours, you can also include up to 390 hours of overtime.
The work experience must be acquired within four years of your date of arrival.

It looks like you only work 8 to 5 on Thursdays, and 5 to 7 on Wednesdays for the last 24 months. You have only accumulated a total of 1,040 hours within the last two years, and you're more than 2,000 hours short. If you work full-time within the next 12 month period (+ 390 hours overtime), I think in 1 year you can accumulate enough number of hours to apply for PR. Good luck

:-* Thank you for prompt response Asbereth. I am not pertaining to the Federal Skilled program but I just need to understand the difference between them. If my sister can hire me as nanny and will present my experience of 1040 hours (in part time), you are saying that I lack 910H in order to consider it a “1 year full time experience”, thus I am not qualified? But, if I have a cumulative total of 1,940H in my part time work, I can be qualified to apply for a temporary work permit under live-in caregiver program?

In FSWP, can I pursue an application (with an arranged employment) on occupation that is in Level B even if that occupation is not among the NOC list which will be out this April? And may submit the application package anytime before May 4, 2013?

I have unusual situation with few years of my life and work.
Few years i lived and worked at my parent`s farm. I was not officially registered, i just worked and they gave me some money for sirvive.
I did not get from them official salary.
So, can my father write Reference letter, to prove that i really worked there?
But i worry about that i did not have offiacial salary, i was not registered officially as worker.
