Hi All,

Can I request someone to please share the difference between FSWP and PNP ? How to apply for PNP separately? Is there any process? I know the process about express entry under FSWP but how to apply for PNP?

Please help.

Thanks,
Gurmeet Kaur

PNP is part of FSWP. If you have less points you can gain additional 600 points by getting nominated by a province by applying to their PNP. You need to check individual PNPs and apply if it is open and you are eligible.

Under Express Entry you can apply under any of the three economic streams FSW/CEC/FST provided you meet the requirements of at least one of them.

If you do not have enough CRS score for direct ITA, then you can try the PNP route to get additional 600 points so that you get ITA in the next round of invitation.

The most popular PNP is OINP. Ontario's 2016 quota has been exhausted, they may start sending out invites in November 2016 once they have the quota from FSW for 2017. You can check OINP's latest update dated May 9, 2016 here http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html.

For other provinces, you will have to track individual provinces to see what are open at the moment or to know when they would open next. Check the following links to know more about PNPs.

PNP is a different immigration from FSWP, just that if you apply to PNP in Express Entry, as Stanlee explained above, you also need to meet the qualifications of any federal immigration program.

You can immigrate through PNP without qualifying for FSWP, as in the paper-based streams.
