Didn't receive mail from vfs / Canada high commission, returned passport as it is

I applied for tourist visa for the first time with proper documents and over 3000$ Funds.

Collected my passport from VFS envelope, it had a chit which said I will receive a mail in my junk box. But I have not, nor have I received visa approved / denied mail or stamp on my passport or any mail in that regards.

What is the actual matter here?
