Hi my name is Sakshi I am residing in Canada I am a permanent resident in saskatchewan and I got married in March 2018 in India and my husband is living in India right now and I am living in Canada I submit my file in July 3rd 2018 it's being like 10 weeks but I didn't get my file number as yet I have send it by mail and also acknowledge by the Canadian Embassy that the file is received by them but still I check my emails on regular basis but didn't find the file number I called them they told me that we have given you a temporary number on your file but we can't give you right now but still I didn't get my file number why it's been so long as all the documents has been submitted successfully kindly let me know as soon as possible as I am worried I will really appreciate if you guys help me in this

did you send your application to Canadian embassy......in Canada or abroad ?

AOR are usually sent within 8 weeks.......if your application package is complete IRCC will send you AOR.......you may need to be patient.

The sponsor may also call IRCC........1-888-242-2100), from within Canada only.

They seem to be taking 8-10 weeks. You've already called so just be patient. You are not the only one applying and many get married in the summer so it might take a bit longer. This process is long and you will go months without hearing anything so you have to be patient and plan for the sponsorship to take at least a year.

Thank you Wakki. Yes i sent my application to Canadian embassy In Canada. Its more then 11 weeks now. I haven't heard from anyone that it takes this much long. The only thing bothering me is if they have issued temporary number, thn why are they taking so much time to issue permanent one. can there be something wrong with the application and is thats reason of not sending me the file number?

yes i was waiting patiently for 10 weeks. but i have started getting worried abt it as its more thn 11 weeks now. thats truth we dont have any other option thn to wait for their reply. i js wana confirm that is it normal if its taking more thn the estimate given time?

just rang them up and got to talk with them. They gave me a temporary file number and said they had no idea how much more time it will take to receive a permanent file number.

An estimate is an estimate. When it's suddenly twice as long as the estimate, then it's worth getting worried. But one week is not worth getting worried over at this point in time.
