Hi experts,
I’m looking for advice regarding the best strategy for my situation.
I became a Canadian permanent resident in June 2021. At that time, I indicated I was single, not realizing I was already in a common-law relationship (which began in May 2021). My partner has been a PR since 2019, so there are no sponsorship concerns, but I’m worried about possible misrepresentation since I did not disclose my common-law status.
What is the best course of action now? Should I submit a webform to IRCC to correct this? I’ve seen mixed advice online—some people suggest not updating a past application and instead waiting to disclose it when renewing my PR next year.
Thank you for your guidance.
