Hi All,

I did my soft landing in May 2018 and returned back to my current place. Plan to come back for good in April, 2021.
I have not applied for the Medical Insurance, have no property or have not availed of any child benefit. I do have a bank account and learners driving license.
My query is:

-Do I still need to file tax for the previous years, once I become a resident?

Thanks!

It also depends how long did you stay when you landed before you return to your country of origin.
Information not explicitly given in your post.

Depends on the bank account. You can ask CRA to determine your status and whether you are a tax resident.

I stayed for 21 days when I did my landing, again visited Canada in 2019 and stayed for 21 days
