I am thinking of ordering my CAIPS notes from caipsnotes.com. Did anyone use caipsnotes.com to get their CAIPS file?

Did they do a good job when you have used them? The reason that I am asking, I want to make sure that they are reliable company since I am giving them my personal info.

Thanks

It's actually pretty easy to order your CAIPS notes yourself - or have your partner do it for you if you aren't in Canada. The reason these agencies exist is because CAIPS/FOSS notes have to be ordered by someone in Canada . . . but if you have someone in Canada that you can authorize to order them for you, it's a lot cheaper - only $5

Here's some instructions on how to order them yourself. Remember CAIPS is for outland processing, FOSS is for inland. If you are outside Canada and you are the applicant, your sponsor in Canada can order them for you. They'd need to include the Release of Information form with the request and order under the Access to Information Act with the $5 fee.

CAIPS/FOSS notes take about 5-6 weeks to receive. The hardest part, really, is figuring out which of a myriad of addresses is the proper one to mail the request to.

I used them. I'm in Canada but we needed to shave a bit of time off, as my husband's interview is Aug 24 and the notes are expected to arrive at caipsnotes.com between Aug 16-26. We didn't want to wait another week for the mail to get to Alberta.

I don't know yet how good they are, but the purchasing was easy, they sent me a confirmation email right away (on a Sunday) and also a personal email ensuring the request would be sent off first thing monday morning, and they would email the PDF immediately upon receipt, knowing that we have little time before the interview.

is it require to have caips before interview

No it's not. It can be a good idea though so that you have insight onto why they are asking for the interview. To be more prepared.

I used the CAIPS Retriever. Good service.

how long after an application is "in Process" can you request the CAIPS notes?

It really depends on the processing time of your designated VO. If you are still within normal processing time and you have received your AOR then I would wait about 6-8 months and order the notes if I haven't heard any news from that VO during that time.

Some people wait until a few good months have passed without any news or updates from the VO before they order CAIPS.

It's a good thing to do if you are 8 months into processing and haven't gotten any news from your VO.

You are not barred from ordering the notes sooner. The only downside is you will most probably not find any useful information in the notes except 5-6 blank pages with just your name and DOB.
