Good day,

I was hoping to get input on the following.

In 2014 I flew from USA back to South Africa after completing a years work internship. (Flying via London Heathrow)

When getting on the plane in USA the plane was quite full and they took my hand luggage as there was no space in the overhead compartments. At first I thought they were storing it somewhere in the front, but later on the flight attendant told me it is put with the checked luggage and I should collect it in London.

At the time I didn’t realize I was going to have to go through customs in London to get the bag and when I went to passport control they obviously saw I didn’t have a VISA as it was meant to be a stopover only.

I explained the situation, and got my bag eventually but they had detained me in the airport until it was time for my flight back to SA.

Would this count as denied entry which I should explain on our application or not? (Overthinking things a bit over here)

Thank you for your assistance.
