Hello people!

The new regulations as of June 1st 2014 say:
"Study permits will only be issued to successful applicants who are pursuing studies at an educational institution that has been designated to receive international students."

and also

"Education is the responsibility of the provinces and territories. The educational institutions that will be designated will be determined by provincial and territorial governments in coming months."

What websites can we keep an eye on for these lists of educational institutions?

Thank you!

Cheers

Not really usman_14pk, that is a list of the participating institutions, meaning institutions whose international students are eligible to get a work permit which will allow them to work off-campus.

With the new regulations that will take effect as of June 1, we will be talking about designated institutions, meaning institutions that has been designated to receive international students, in other words, you can't get a study permit to Canada even if you applied and been admitted to a non-designated institution.

The educational institutions that will be designated will be determined by provincial and territorial governments in coming months. So, keep an eye on a list which will be published in Citizenship and Immigration Canada website somewhere before June 1.

Thank you for the replies Neez and unman_14pk!

So this could mean the end of those study english/work programs that english schools love to advertise?

Cheers!

It is pretty obvious! As new rules are not implemented yet so the institutions list is also not modified.
The "source" link which I shared above will remain the same but with the modifications in the list later near June 1st.
