Deported from USA

Hello. My husband would like to have a visitor's visa to visit relatives in canada. He was previously deported from the USA in March 2001. We have 3 sons. He had a felony charge. He was involved with an underage girl he was 19 at the time. He didnt kno her true age until after the fact. Thats the only criminal act hes ever committed. Can he be successful in getting a vistors visa to Canada?

I forgot to mention, the felony conviction was reduced to a misdemeanor conviction five years after he was convicted.He owns his own business and property also.

He may have to apply for rehabilitation before he will be eligible to apply for a visitor visa to Canada. He will need to determine what the equivalent charge is in Canada. More information here:

If you committed an offence outside Canada that, if committed in Canada, would be an indictable offence punishable by a maximum term of imprisonment of less than ten years:

• You are deemed rehabilitated: at least ten years after commission of the offence.

The above would apply to my husband . He spent a couple months on prison and its been 19 years since that offence was committed
