Hi, my sister got deported from United States due to the unfortunate misdemeanor back in 2014. She is trying to apply for a Canada PR, would it still be possible for her to get the PR or she has to undergo anything. Would Rehabilitation work for her ? As the case in the United States is already closed ? Please help me with the needful answers...

It depends on the conviction - but the misdemeanor could certainly be a problem. She will need to wait until five years have passed from the time she completed all penalties / fines / probation related to the conviction. She will then need to apply for rehabilitation and be approved before she can apply for PR. Rehabilitation applications can take anywhere from a few months to well over a year to process. Probably a good idea to get a consult with a good immigration lawyer to determine the exact impact of the misdemeanor.
