Hello everyone,

I wanted to know regarding the rules for taking dependent children to Canada, when one of the parent is on student visa. If my husband is working in home country while I have got the student visa, will it be possible for me to take my children along with me. Looking for insight and advice from any student parents who had filed visa for children as well.

Thank you

Yes, you can bring children under age 22 and they can attend school in Canada for free.

Schooling is only free up to the high school / secondary school level. Once they are in college / university, they would need their own study permit and would be required to pay international student fees.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I wanted to know if Canada has any rule like the UK that both parents should be present in the country to bring the children, since its more doable for us during this time to have my husband working in our country.
Thank you

No rule like that but also no guarantee that children can join.
