Hi Scylla .. i was looking for the new info for dependent children , as i read on here that the age of dependents were changing . I can only see parents and grandparent info ..Am i just missing something ?

so the kids have to be under 18 to be sponsored, any child over 18 cannot come with sponsorship starting in 2014, I believe this would be in ALL immigration categories.....

It remains to be seen whether the "lock-in date" would remain or not....

Thats what i heard Canvis2006 .. will have to take another nose around the site ....

Changing the maximum age of dependents: The maximum age of dependents will be set at 18 years of age and under for all immigration programs, including the Parent and Grandparent program. This is in line with the standard age of majority in Canada. Those over the age of 18 can apply to visit or immigrate to Canada independently. There will be an exception for individuals, regardless of age, who are financially dependent on their parents due to a mental or physical disability.

Just spoke to immigration and the laws have not been changed as yet . They are just talking about it as of today . They told me to fill in the dependents under 22 unless the law changes from the time it is in place .

Exactly. And even if they do change, the old rules likely would be grandfathered for those whose applications have been submitted already. Similar to what they did with 'conditional PR', the rules changed based on the date the application was "received" by CIC.
