I recently went to visit my girlfriend in Canada as a United States citizen. I intended to stay longer, but the immigration officer I spoke to in Calgary told me I was limited to a 2 week stay. That's fine. I was given a departure order that was supposed to be handed in at my point of exit in Canada. It stated that I must leave on or before the 9th of May. I did. But I did not surrender this form to prove that I left the country to any official in Canada. Do I need to make calls or anything to fix this? I have proof that I left with boarding passes and my passport that was stamped in America. I want to be able to visit my girlfriend in the future. I dont want to be banned from entering Canada. I didnt turn the departure order in, but I did not overstay. Thank you in advance!

Additional question. If it turns out this is not okay, will I need to submit an ARC form and pay that fee, even though I followed the order to leave?

It was a Visitor Record, not a Departure Order. Very different things.

Next time you come to Canada, bring the VR and proof that you complied by leaving on time.

So even if they don't have this paper back, as long as I can prove that I left, there's no risk of even a temporary ban from visiting Canada?
Thank you for the reply though, definitely calmed some nerves!
