Hi,
I have been dating my Philippine girlfriend for 2.5 years. We have applied for 3 TRV all of which were declined for various reasons. If i were to marry her and apply for a PR immediately upon my return to Canada, would this get flagged as fraudulent? or raise flags and give us grief?

As mentioned we have been dating for 2.5 years, I am Canadian and i have visited her i think a total of 7 times since we met, we have call logs, texts logs and lots of photos. We would get married with justice of piece, no family present.

Thanks

If you can prove the relationship is genuine, then you don't need to worry about a flag. You will need to prove it wasn't a relationship entered into primarily for migration status.

If she is from the Philippines why wouldn’t family come to the wedding or at least have a party to celebrate the wedding? Would say you would need to explain why you couldn't have any family attend if you just have a court marriage.

Have a look at the checklist to see what information they would ask in your situation. If no parents and/or other family members are present at any ceremony (engagement, wedding, etc.) it would raise a red flag. First question is if you both think it's worth it. Because to rush in marriage for PR doesnt show immigration it's a genuine relationship and you have the burden to prove it. I know how distance can be a challenge but if youre both in it for the long hold and you had planned to propose go for it. But put chances on your side. Have some family member present at a celebration or make sure they know about it and that your relationship is public. Best of luck.
