Good day everyone. I have a concern and was wondering if anyone can help. I applied for the express entry immigration program and was asked to send my passport for COPR. However, I had made arrangements to travel to America the following day and was denied entry into the US and banned for 5 years for misrepresentation. Will that affect my application now if i send my passport for the visa?

Need further insight on your situation, were you banned by US or Canada?

CIC must have concluded all background checks before asking you to send your passport, so I don't think they will know what happened in America after they had already processed your application. Go ahead and send your passport to them.

But my visa stamp in my passport says cancelled. Do I have to send an explanation along with my passport?

Holy cow. Can you please explain which country visa stamp are you talking about? USA or Can? What reason did USCIC gave to deny your entry? Why do you think this denial happened?

The US visa was cancelled. My wife and I got a B1/B2 visa to America for a holiday. We decided to have a baby there. We wrote to the US consulate informing them and they said we were OK to use our existing visa. On arrival in America the immigration officials said because we didn't disclose my wife's pregnancy as at when we applied we were willingly withholding information and denied us entry and banned us for 5 years

shoot, in case I'm lucky to get PR, the most comfortable flight for me is by US transit, so I'll have to apply for US visa right after PR \ CORP.
Now worried, wth.

Hi. But could you give some more information about the reason why u face this ban?

Are you Nigerian? Not withstanding, you need to send that passport and send an explanation with it. Tell them you informed the US embassy that issued your visa before proceeding to have the baby, and as at the time you applied for that visa you people did not plan to have that baby there and the plan came after the visa was already issued. Also, you were not asked about the pregnancy during your visa interview (except you were asked and lied about it). Let that letter be persuasive, I think you should be fine.

Oh my! Sorry to hear about this. Do you still have the email correspondence between you and the US CONSULATE? I think you should include that too. Its no news how erratic the US immigration officers are at the moment, so hopefully things work out for you and your family.
