Hi,

My PR card has been delivered to my friend's address in Canada address and currently, I am not in Canada, can I get my pr card sent via courier?

Is there any other suitable ways to get the pr card? Has anyone opted for receiving pr card from their friends/family living in canada address to themselves via the courier route?

Any input will be highly appreciated.

Best,
Joe

People do that a lot. You can try FedEx or UPS I believe.

Lots of people do that, but I feel its risky as heard a lot of people lose track or lost in transit. So I would suggest not to do that but your call.

Would you recommend getting a PRTD instead if someone left Canada? I'm considering a soft landing in the coming few months to buy a home and then fly back again when the airlines open up for pets again after September this year. I'm thinking of applying for a PRTD as soon as I get back from soft landing.

That's a safe option against receiving your PR card via courier, specially outside Canada.

I've heard that some countries may have an issue with a card containing a RFID chip (which a PR Card has) being imported. Make sure to check with whichever courier you find and ask about any possible issues.
