Delaying Reasons

Does anyone know if I have the right to ask for delaying reasons?

I am really interested to know what makes my background verification take so long for a simple 10-day visitor VISA

You can certainly ask - however CIC isn't obligated to give you a reason and probably won't tell you specifically.

Imo.. its always appropriate to ask for the delaying reason after crossing the limit of current processing time required for your region which depends on the current load of work. It can be checked on CIC website.

usually it happens if they are checking something and are waiting for the answer (for ex : an answer from your work place)
