Delay in Passport Return

I'm from India, and am studying in the USA as an international student.
I sent my visa application via USPS Express Mail and it was delivered on the 25th of October. And I still haven't got it back.

I have a flight back to India on the 10th of December!

What can I do?

1) postpone your flight and wait to get it back;
2) get a new pp and arrive India on schedule or take a later flight;
3) wait and arrive India on schedule
