Deferring semester with study permit in process, and passport near expiry

I am currently waiting for study permit for fall 2020. I didnt have to submit medical for it because I was in USA for last two years, and they gave me exemption from medical certificate. Now I am in my home country Pakistan from last 2 months.

I need to defer my studies by a semester for some serious reasons. But because of some concerns I am wondering if it will cause too much issues

1) Can study permit and visa issued for fall semester be used for spring semester
2) I didnt submit medical certificate because I hadnt been in designated country for 6+ months. By the time spring semester rolls around I will be. Will they ask me to resubmit study permit app woth medical?
3) My passport will expire on July 2021. If i renew it do I have to reapply for permit? Is it worth renewing?

1. Yes, you just need to supply a letter from the school confirming you deferred.
2. They could ask you to undergo a medical exam.
3. The permit will not be issued for longer than your passport is valid. After renewing your passport you will need to renew your study permit.
