Quick question

For spousal sponsor do we really need a lawyer for your case. Or one can do it yourself....

you dont need one if your application is straight forward

Can you elaborate what you mean by straightforward...

Some idea about us

We met through marriage portal in nov 2016
So i have call records, whatsapp chats, emails plus one visit to india and do one ceremony...

Now plan to do wedding around lets say Nov 2017

First marriage...
Does this sound straightfoward

If you have legal issues, then you need a lawyer. Like criminal history, previously been banned from a country. Something where the law is involved.

Otherwise, a lawyer is of no use to you. A lawyer doesn't, and can't, make a 9 year age gap a 2 year age gap. All they can do is fill in the same forms you'll do by yourself, with the information you provide and tell them, and charge you for it.

In my opinion you do not need a lawyer to submit the application if you or the person you are sponsoring have no criminal or past immigration issues. Just make sure you take your time filling out the forms correctly and ensure you submit all the requirements.

Good luck.

Thank you

Now i am wondering how can i provide proof of cohabitation if I m living in Canada and she is in india...this will be outland application...we are yet not married...formal marriage with funcitons will happen in nov 2017

So confused?

Got it...curious if that age group will raise red flag...we both from india

It depends. If in India such an age gap is considered unusual, then CIC will consider it unusual and will scrutinize your marriage more.

Also things like marrying on the first visit, parents not attending wedding, etc will negatively affect your app if you don't provide good explanations. Also note that if this website where you guys met, is strictly for people seeking marriage to foreigners, it will be a big issue for you
