Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of completing a Physical Presence calculation.

Prior to arriving to Canada as a PR and landing, I did visit Canada a couple times as a visitor but I was not residing in Canada.

Do I include these days in the travel section of the calculation? Is this technically "leaving" Canada if I don't reside here?

How do I include the days I visited Canada prior to obtaining my PR and landing? The days are within the 5-year eligibility period.

TIA!

Do u have 1095 days as PR? If yes, do not need to worry about those days. If no, put them in calculator ans see what it shows

730 days. However, I do have 730 days total as visitor and student residing in Canada so the 3 year physical presence requirements are met.

My question is regarding the visits to Canada prior to these 3 years, where I was residing overseas.

If you held a Temporary status i.e. had a work permit and visited Canada using that then you can include those visits.

But if it was a regular "Tourist" visa it won't be counted.

Well, that's my understanding based on my personal citizenship application processing journey (from being a temp worker till now waiting for oath invitation) and would be happy if someone corrects me if wrong.

All the best!
