So my friend's child's birth day on her birth certificate is different than the day shown on all other docs (record of landing, PR card, passport). The year and month is the same, it's just a difference of 10 days in the day of birth. The parents don't want to amend the birth certificate and would like to use the birth date that is listed on all the other docs (which is what the minor's school records show as well). Since the age of the child doesn't really change, it's just a difference of 10 days, would that be fine? I know that a birth certificate is required as part of the required docs, so I was thinking maybe they can simply give an explanation for why the day is different? Especially since the purpose of the birth certificate is used to show the parent's guardianship over the child.
Has anyone of you gone through something like that?
