Movements in MI-1 cases at Manila, Singapore, Buffalo, Detroit, London, NY etc. is visible in the last one month. Some have got MRs and some even passport request. One applicant personally went to enquire about his case to Embassy yesterday and they gave a letter by hand asking him to bring his PP. He was pleasantly surprised. That is okay man. i just want to be sure that we are spreading rumour. I should have taken your word for it. The info you provided is okay and I am one of the beneficiary of the movement in the MI class.

I had since done my medical and sent the RPRF to my VO expecting my PPR any moment from now.

Sorry to be critical, but how does decreasing the number of applications in parents/grandparents category will have an impact on FSW especially the MI-1?

There is already a backlog for this category. They cannot reject the applications(will raise hue and cry as their kids/family are already there).
While I agree that MI-1 will be processed and many of us will get our visa, this news has nothing to do with FSW.

This is what the impact will likely be.

Most of the family class applications particularly the grand parents will migrates in to temporary visa processing which will allow for enough resources to deal with the economic class group that obviously will meet their own targets.
