Quebec doesn't have any information about the CSQ processing times on their website, but I know for a fact that it it only takes about a month for spousal sponsorship. I would assume it's the same for Live-in caregiver. I would go to that section of the forums to find out!

How much time do we have to apply for CSQ after getting the stage 1 approval ? As my VO timeline is huge can I just wait a little as in any case the file will sleep for at least a year before they even open it. Or this can affect the timeline and I should apply asap ?

Also AOR is not enough to apply for CSQ ? I have to wait for 2nd email from CIC ?

Hello,

My wife and I are applying in family class. We sent the first package/forms to CIC Mississauga on Nov 7th, 2012. It was recieved on Nov 9th. We got sponsor aproval on Jan28th 2013, and also CIC stating that we should apply to MICC for the CSQ. We sent the undertaking and CSQ forms on Feb 06th, 2013. We are still waiting to hear back from MICC.

Yes AOR is not enough you need to have the letter from them which is SA informing you to continue with your application, and you need to print that letter and include it with all other forms that will be sent to MICC.

We received the AOR letter from CIC with instructions to submit the undertaking to MICC on Jan 28. Mailed materials to MICC Feb 1. CSQ was dated Feb 22 and received Feb 27.

Docs sent to MICC on Feb. 19th, got there on the 20th... so far, no news... It really pisses me off that CIC, that takes care of the whole country, goes faster than MICC...

I thought it was pretty reasonable turnaround time on getting the CSQ from MICC. The part that pissed me off was the extra $266 we get to pay to Québec.

I don't think you get an AOR from MICC on the CSQ. We sent our Undertaking off, and the next thing that happened was our CSQ was received by mail a little less than a month later.

they don't send AOR, just your CSQ once its approved.

btw, the CSQ certificate needs to be sent by you to the applicant, since they will need it when they land in Canada. the micc doesn't send it to the applicant abroad, they send it to the sponsor in canada.

i applied on 3rd dec 2011 and file was transfered on the 30th jan 2012....in the letter they mentioned dat we shud apply for the CSQ so we did and we got it in march....it took more than 1 month....
