Can anyone help me plz....I have a situation where SIRC have written to CSIS to ask if they are done with my file, CSIS's lawyer sent a letter reporting back to SIRC saying CSIS has sent my report back to CIC on October 14th 2010, I called my Local IO this morning and they say they have nothing from CSIS , SIRC are sending me confirmation that CSIS have sent my report back to CIC...

Also my local IO had never heard of SIRC until I mentioned it to them, surely IO's know SIRC work for the Federal Government ?

Has anyone had any similar situation that could advise me what to do next ?

Any ideas anyone ?

If your IO doesn't have the report can they not request CSIS issue them a new one. In this day and everything is scanned and recorded I would hope.

My IO has sent CSIS an email requesting information , however, he was reluctant to respond as his words were ' I told you it takes around 1 year ' I explained CSIS were done in 5 months ..

Your correct though, technology has moved on rather swiftly from the old days ...I hear the internet is a wonderful thing. :D

:) You know I've gone beyond trying to understand how any of this operates. Somebody with an extensive military background gets through in 4 months and another straight forward housewife takes 8 :-\ The lack of communication astounds me. Hope you get some answers and soon!

Thankyou, Its bizzare isnt it the whole process. Im starting to question the ability of the CIC employee's too , I understand its a tough job so on ..but how simple is it to ensure that a very sensitive document reaches its destination without being lost ? Although I do remember when I lived back home in England around 6 years ago a disc went missing that belonged to the department of work and pensions, this disc was the family credit disc which had every applications name , security number and address on , and the disc was supposed to be transported by courier from one department to the new one, some how, mariculously the disc disapeared ..and was never to be found again.

I still cannot believe that a government employee does not know SIRC ..unreal!

You called the call centre probably, now why a clerk that answers simple questions about Immigration know anything about the Security Intelligence Review Committee? It is sort of like asking a government clerk in the UK about MI5 and MI6 and who is their oversight.

LOL @ PMM so true

No, I spoke with my IO at my local office, and I would have thought they knew about SIRC , my mistake to think that.

I havent dealt with the call centre in a while . LOL.

Well I guess it goes to the immigration minister before CIC actually receive it .

ive called local office who are dealing with it , got an MP onto it now, im sick of all this BS to be honest. :(
