Hello,

I just finished applying for EE and after completing my profile, I had 393 points. However, when I calculated it on the CIC website before applying, it told me my score would be 434. I've double checked all my information, and all I can think of being the issue is foreign work experience. I am currently on a post graduation work permit, and I have 1 year of work experience in Canada under NOC B. However, I do NOT have ANY work experience from my home country. Since I am not a citizen/resident of Canada, would my 1 year of work experience in Canada be considered as "foreign" work experience? Or does foreign work experience refer to work experience in my home country? I think that may be the reason why my score was too high, because I selected "1 year of work experience in Canada" AND "1 year of foreign work experience" thinking they'd be the same. I'm assuming this is not correct, and 393 is unfortunately my correct score?

I"m interested in seeing the responses you get. I believe I'm in a similar position; my CRS score after using the calculator on the immigration website is 452 whereas after submitting my application I found my score to be 376! I'm on a PGWP with one year of work experience in Canada, a language score of CLB 8 and I'm a single applicant. I do not want to claim points yet for foreign work experience and my foreign education - doing that should theoretically boost my score to 500+ but the hassle involved in getting the necessary docs is insane.

As it stands, I suspect I may have filled my application profile wrongly but I have gone over it several times. Any advice or guidance here would be most welcome.

Thanks

You do not have a year of foreign work experience.Your Canadian work experience is not foreign.

What does this mean? Do you have education credentials from Canada instead?

Yes, I schooled in Canada and overseas as well. In creating my profile I chose not to claim any points for foreign education and only listed my Canadian education.
