As title says:

I'm hoping that the scores will drop in next month or two, and really debating if i should do upfront medical here in US:
It is about 1400 $ for family of 3, and i just don't want to be in situation if my medical expires and i waste bunch of money.
I called around and appointments usually week or two out, and i can fly to different state and do medical there.

I have all other required documents on hands besides medical.

Medicals comes with a validity of one year, so wait to get invited and then get Medicals done.

Yes, it is. "Upfront" refers to doing a medical before sending the application. This is different from the process in the old paper-based system, when people sent in a PR application and had to wait until CIC asked them to do a medical.

Thanks for the correction.

eApr is when we gather all the required papers and submit right

Yes, eAPR is your PR application which you submit online post ITA. The reason why it is suggested to do medicals at the last is because it comes with an expiry of one year. On an average, it takes 6 months for application to be approved and your visa date will also be as per the medicals date or may be even before the expiry date of your medicals. You also need some time to wind up in your home country. So, if you hurry up and get medicals done now and if for some reason, your application processing takes longer, then you will be left with very less time to plan out things.

Thanks for the clarification,so usually you send your medicals with all the other documents online and then wait to be asked for sending your passports ,is that right?

Correct.

Thank you guys for clarification.

Any chance we get to see more invites this time and lower CRS ? I was thinking it should be around 1200-1300 ITA with CRS 476-479.
