Hi guys,
Does anyone know why CIC invites only 750 candidates per draw in comparison to last years 1500. Are they on vacation or why they invite less candidates since Justin Trudeau took over?

And if anyone knows are they going to invite candidates who have 450-480 points?

Call center doesn't know. I asked them twice

Thanks in advance

There is a cap dedicated to each stream each year as far as I'm concerned.
Also compared to last year there is an increase of +-50,000 new comers. So no it's not related to Justin Trudeau's policy if he never made it easier!

I would not put my bet on CIC call centres, they are known for not being consistent. But here is a link so you can understand more: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/reports/ee-year-end-2015.asp

And check this link too: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/rounds.asp

Thanks man.
Would you be so kind to explain how come is possible for CIC to send 11222 invitations to 1613 candidates who have 450-499 points as of Jan 3rd 2016. Apparently I am not reading it well because I see that there is 10 times more invitations sent than candidates within certain point range.
Who are those people and how did they get to be invited. It's bizarre.

Thank you again

The Provincial PNP programs had not yet started then, with the launch of the Provincial EE programs (scattered throughout 2016), a whole new crop of applicants got the bonus 600 pts. Before the PNP EE started, it was much easier to get the ITA with the lower score.

As for the drop in the # of ITAs, I am not sure. I believe it has more to do with the change of government, and change in immigration priorities, requiring a shifting of staff and other resources.

So if I understood correctly, you are saying that candidates with lesser than 450 points got 600 points on PNP and this is why they now have over 470 (e.i. over 1000). However, candidates who have between 450 and 470 are completely neglected since February of 2016.

it is hard to believe in such theory.

in 2015 about 31000 candidates were invited. in 2016 until now about 18000 with pnp scattered.

or even better

From Jan 1st, 2015 until March 1st. 2016 1500 candidates were invited per draw. Then Justin wins elections and since then only 750 candidates were invited per draw.

There is a reason why they cut this in half. They don't want to say it but it is obvious.

To REZAFC
thank you for the link for the report but that report is from March 2016. Is there any link to a site where we can monitor how many people is in the pool at this moment? thanks

and another question for anyone

if I apply for pnp in January and my visa expires, I will obviously have to go home and leave Canada. Will I still be eligible to wait for PNP draw and if I get it to apply for EE CEC from my home country? PNP would get me to over 1000 crs points but I will not be able to stay in Canada since my visa expires in February

Thank you guys for your effort and assistance in this matter.

Hi,

There should be a link somewhere, I'm not sure since I don't keep up with EE system. I am an old applicant.

In regards to your PNP application, once it has passed the first stages, you can apply to extend your work permit with that PNP assessment. They will issue a letter upon your request, and with that letter you can extend your work permit. I'm not sure about the PNP timeline but that letter can be obtained between 1 to 3 months after your file gets opened.

Try to call your PNP office an double check. And this is as far as I know. Maybe the rules have changed.

Best of luck
