Hello,

I'm French and I have a question for you regarding my Canadian visa. I am currently on Student Visa for almost 6 years (Master + PhD still in progress), and my visa expires on March 31st. CAQ renewal and visa applications are / will be in progress, but I am unlikely to receive my new visa until March 31st.

My problem is that I plan a trip to Hawaii from the 23rd to the 30th of March (I have no choice in dates). So I was wondering, in case I did not receive my new visa on time, if I would have a problem with Canadian customs when I returned from Hawaii.

I know that my problem is not a PVTist problem, but you are the community I know best able to help me.
I thank you in advance,
Rémy

Please see this page for the full details.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...s/visitors/implied-status-extending-stay.html

Since Hawaii is part of the United States you could visit Hawaii and return but you would have to have means to prove to the visa office that you have the funds to live since your status will be changed to visitor till you get your extension approved.

You should also keep proof with you that shows that you applied for the extention. Visit the link I gave for full information.

Hi

You don't have a visa. You have a study permit. As long as your eTA is valid, you are fine to return to Canada.
