Hi Friends

I am a temporary resident in canada for more than 3 years and now i plan to apply pr under CEC next month.

My problem is - I am from India and I had a two month sentence at singapore before 12 years and i stayed there less than 6 months. After that i lost my indian passport and i got a new passport which doesnt have any details about that. Now , I understand that, in the PR application we dont need to fill in the travel history before 10 years. (also this one less than 6 months).

First question,If i go and answer the question as 'NO' for the question related to criminal history.
Will they find my sentence details during the background check?

Second question, I already got the work permit from canada by said 'NO' to the previous criminal history question and so far i dont have any issues on extending the work permit. if they find any issue in my pr app, will it afffect my work permit too?

I dont want to take risk to lose my currrent status just by applying PR.

Please provide your inputs if someone of your friends experienced these kind of issue.

Thanks.

I say, be honest with your application and explain about your two months sentence as Interpol will track it anyway.

Misrepresentation = 5 years ban from Canada and a 5 years ban from applying for PR. You do the maths...

(Assume that they will find out eventually).

this is serious, If I am you, I should find a lawyer to help on it .

suggestion in this forum, just opinions.

But you lied first, when you applied for a visa. It is misrepresentation and serious problems after they find out.

Sure , I will definitely approach a lawyer if I am going to file the application. Thanks for your suggestion.

not at all, in my opinion, maybe you can legally avoid to answer these question , then it means you are always honest.

anyway, only lawyer know how to resolve it , like "proper avoid tax "

I just worry, sometimes "over honest " introduce unnecessary trouble.

but never be "not honest purposely "
