Hi all,
I am from the UK and am currently waiting for my criminal rehabilitation application to be processed.
I have a DUI. I'm a 1 time offender with no other offences with an otherwise clean drivers licence.
I received confirmation that my application was received on the 4th of December 2019.
A few days a go I emailed them back asking for an update and whether I could be approved or not by March 2020 (my girlfriends brother's wedding is in march in Canada and I would like to let them know if I can attend).
I received an email from them today saying that my application is currently 'with an officer for review' and they they cant tell me when it'll be processed and that I shouldn't make plans to travel to Canada until it has been processed. Not the email I was hoping for! I was hoping they would say they'd put a note on my application to try to speed the processing up (or something to that effect).
So my question is, has any one out there had a similar response and have any idea how long they think its going to take. The fact that my application is 'with an officer for review' gives me hope it will be processed soon.
There's no one to talk to about this! I spoke to a lawyer who specialises in UK - Canada rehabilitation and he says that more often than not it takes around 3 months to process but the internet is swamped with unhappy people going through this process saying its been like 12 months and they've heard nothing.. I would love to hear some successful applicants stories.
