Will an impaired driving charge from 28 years ago stop me from sponsoring my wife to Canada if I never got a pardon? Or will I need a pardon first before I can sponsor her (and her son)?

I think they are only bothered about crimes within the last ten years, i do not think anything beyond that whether serious or minor will have a impact. Anyone correct me if I'm ;) wrong!!

not sure about the 10 year rule but do know you cannot have a history of domestic violence.....
