Criminal Record Check--Question for Asivad and others

Hi,

I stayed in Halifax for 2 years and I left Halifax in July 2014 and never returned. My criminal record check expired on April 03, 2014. I am wondering if CIC would accept my expired criminal record check or I would need a new one? If yes, is there a way to get it without travelling to Halifax?
I currently live in Alberta, a criminal record check from Alberta is sufficient or I need one from Halifax?

Also, I left Pakistan in 2012. At the time of leaving Pakistan, my criminal record check was valid. It expired after I left Pakistan and I never returned to Pakistan after that. Do I need another criminal record check from Pakistan?

My score is 452. Just want answer to my question in case I get an ITA anytime soon.

You don't have ti travel to Halifax ti get your criminal check. U can do it anywhere in canada as RCMP check and it's valid for 6 months .if u got your pcc from Pakistan at the time when u left then it should be good provided u did not go back aND stayed there for 6 months or more . Rule of thumb is if u had stayed anywhere from more then 6 months after the ago of 18 u need a pcc from there.

Does this mean I don't need PCC from all provinces? One province in Canada covers all the provinces.

Yes RCMP check is all what u need and that can be done anywhere .

Dig a little deeper. I think I read somewhere that PCC had to be issued after April 2013. Am sorry I can't remember where I read it.

"For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country."

I was issued the certified while I was living in Pakistan but I left Pakistan within 2 months of issuance of certificate. Does that mean I will need a new one?

It is going to be difficult to get a new one while living in Canada

Anyone who faced a similar issue, please share your experience.

You'll need a fresh PCC for Pakistan. Other members have reported rejections on similar grounds.
