this information is not being requested in the current pyament form.

all the form asks for is :

PIN is usually required for a Debit Card. For a credit card authorization, the number, expiry date, and the CVV on the back is enough.

Are you sure what you have is a credit, and not a debit card ?

Are you then able to make online transactions with this card ? Online transactions made via Credit Cards never ask for a PIN.

If you are able to transact online with this card (without the need of a PIN), then you will be fine with CIC too.

Yes, my credit card requires a pin for an in-store transaction. But Cic was able to swipe the amount based on just the info on the form, no pin.

It is usually the case that if you give a company your name, card number, address, cvv number(at the back), expiry date, they are able to swipe it.

To make sure, call your credit card company and confirm or carry out a small online transaction and pay for it with your credit card. If it doesn't ask for pin, you will have your peace of mind.

My credit card requires activation by call to the issuing back each time I make an online transaction. I applied in February 2010 and opted to pay through credit card but online system declined it due to which my application was returned and I had to re apply.

Replies by sn2014 and faisal892 clearly show that there could be card-specific issues. But such issues are solvable if you contact your credit card company upfront, and ask them if someone (whom you have authorized) would be able to use it with the information you have provided.

There could be special security (default) settings which need to be set (like in the case of Faisal it appears).

Just get it sorted out with your CC company, that's all.

All the best,

Regards

hi..

i am using credit card and it always require pin when using online and at merchant outlets..this is compulsary now as per indian laws...

but whenever i used them abroad or shopping online on US sites like amazon it never asks for any pin..i guess in US/Canada its not mandatory check for any pin and the payment goes through..

moreover embassy is a secure govt place where the transaction is taking place so i guess it wont be asking for any pin..otherwise a lot of ppl will face the pin issues

My VISA credit card prompts for a 4-digit pin when I use it in-store. But, it works without a PIN online. I tried it on PayPal, on Google Play Store, and I also used it to book my IELTS online.. No pin was needed online.

While I cannot tell for sure that CIC will be able to charge my credit card without knowing the PIN, it makes sense to me that there will be no problem.

no need for pin when used online and CIO dont need pins .... so mention card no and send your application ... there will be no problem.
